Abstract:
Symptom of ergot disease was observed in 1984/85
crop season at Geredella on about 4423 hectares in wheat
and barley production fields. Degree of wild, cat
infestation an I ergot sclerotic, on randomely selected
panicles at 15 to 25 check points depending on the level
of wild oat infestation were examined by visual assessments.
Wild oat infestation varied from 5 to 60%, while mean
disease infection level by ergot on wild oat ranged
from 0.2 - 6.9%.
